Buddy Ebsen
Dad played the part of an old stagehand
(good casting!) for
Mr. Ebsen's routine.
He periodically wandered on stage rolling a huge cart full of props
for Buddy to use...
interrupting Buddy's act...
toward the end of the act, the only thing left in the cart was an old trumpet...
Dad picked it up...looked at it...grinned at the audience...and started playing...
the crowd went wild!
